**NATURE OF SUBMISSIONS**
The journal features original research, new developments, and case studies in various fields of Geosound (geology, geophysics, mining, and geomorphology). The main types of articles accepted are "Original Research Articles" and "Technical Notes." Supporting studies on existing techniques or preliminary results are accepted as Technical Notes. Technical Notes are generally shorter than full articles and do not require an abstract. In addition, "Critical Reviews," which critically examine previous studies or a topic while providing some contributions, and "Discussions" related to published articles, may also be submitted. However, Discussions related to Technical Notes are not included in the journal.
---
**SUBMISSION OF ARTICLES**
Articles should be submitted via email. Submissions must consist of two Word documents: "Cover File" and "Main File."
The **Cover File** should include contact information (address, email, phone number) for all authors. The **Main File** should contain the title, abstract, keywords, main text, results, acknowledgments, and references. Tables and their descriptions, figure captions, and figures should also be included in the main file in the order they appear. The main file must have line numbers throughout the text. Additionally, translations of the title, figure captions, and table descriptions must be included in English (for Turkish articles) or Turkish (for English articles). The main file must be formatted according to the writing rules. Files should be prepared as Word documents.
The editorial board is not responsible for any loss of manuscripts, and authors are advised to keep a copy of their submissions.
---
**PREPARATION OF ARTICLES**
The publication languages of the journal are Turkish and English. If the authors' native language is not Turkish, the editorial board will translate the title, abstract, and captions of tables and figures into Turkish. For articles in English, both British and American English are acceptable. Authors whose native language is not English are strongly advised to seek assistance from a native English speaker for grammar and style before submission.
Articles should generally be prepared following the format provided below:
(a) Title (in Turkish and English)
(b) Author names (in bold, all uppercase) and addresses (in italic, lowercase), with the corresponding author's email at the bottom left of the first page
(c) Abstract (in Turkish and English)
(d) Keywords (in Turkish and English)
(e) Introduction (purpose, scope, and methods)
(f) Main text (methods, materials studied, descriptions, analyses, etc.)
(g) "Results and Discussion" or "Discussion and Recommendations"
(h) Acknowledgments (if applicable)
(i) References
(j) Appendices (if applicable)
(k) Tables
(l) Figure Captions
(m) Figures
(n) Plates (if applicable)
Different levels of headings must be distinctly formatted, and all headings should be aligned to the left margin. Main headings should be in uppercase and bold. Subheadings (first and second levels) should be in lowercase (with the first letter of each word capitalized for first-level subheadings), bold for the first two levels, and italic for the third level. No numbers or letters should precede the headings.
The text (abstract, main text, acknowledgments, references, appendices, and figure captions) must be typed on one side of A4-sized pages (29.7 cm x 21 cm), with margins of at least 2.5 cm on all sides, 1.5 line spacing, and 12-point Arial font. All pages and lines (including headings) must be numbered consecutively.
---
**ABSTRACT**
The abstract must provide concise information about the study (purpose, main findings) and should not exceed 300 words. References should not be cited in the abstract. Abstracts must be provided in both Turkish and English. For Turkish articles, the abstract in English (italicized) should follow the Turkish "Öz," and for English articles, the italicized Turkish "Öz" should follow the English abstract.
---
**KEYWORDS**
Keywords reflecting the topic of the article (up to 7 words) should be listed below the abstract in both Turkish and English. Keywords must be written in lowercase (except for the first letter of the first keyword) and separated by commas in alphabetical order. Keywords are not required for Technical Notes and Discussions.
---
**REFERENCES**
All references cited in the text, figures, and tables must be listed at the end of the text under the heading "REFERENCES." For single or two-author articles, references should be cited with the authors’ names (e.g., Barka and Cadinsky-Cade, 1988; Hudson, 1997). For articles with more than two authors, the first author’s name should be followed by "et al." (for English articles) or "vd." (for Turkish articles), with a comma separating the authors' names from the publication year (e.g., Vendeville et al., 1995; Vendeville vd., 1995).
In-text references must be listed in chronological order, separated by semicolons (e.g., “Various studies were conducted in the laboratory and field by Komar and Li (1986); Schmidt and Gintz (1995)”). For English articles, "and" and "et al." replace "ve" and "vd." in the above examples.
For cross-references, when citing a source that cannot be accessed directly but is mentioned in another source, both references should be cited in the text (e.g., Gamble, 1971; Franklin and Chandra, 1972).
Examples of citation formats for different types of references are provided in the original text.
